Sweet Manicure

Hey guys

Today's manicure has got to be one of my recent favourite. It isn't particularly difficult but I just love the classic-ness (not a word) of it.

nude manicure

It's just a simple nude polish with a hint of white.

The colour combo reminds me of one of the sweets you can get in dolly mixtures and I actually craved them after doing this manicure but still sadly haven't had any. I wish I could say it's because of my health eating plan but it's mainly due to my laziness and not being bothered to go to the shops.

I used one of the nude polishes from Maybelline's color show range and added a bit of white at the bottom.

I also used my matte top coat that I'm totally obsessed with that I mentioned in my recent Superdrug haul to finish off the mani.

It did annoyingly chip slightly quite quickly (which explains my thumb) but apart from that I was quite pleased with the result.

What do you guys think?

Mani monday

Hey guys

As you may or may not know, I've recently gotten into nude nail polishes. At first, I was quite hesitant but now I only want to be wearing nude polishes.

I used one of my nude polishes from Maybelline's color show 'stripped nude' range. I would recommend this range. These nude polishes are great quality, affordable (£3.99 with Superdrug/Boots always doing offers) and don't require many coats to be opaque enough.

I added a bit of black to make it a bit more interesting

If you too also love nail polishes/nail art and can direct me to designs and polishes do let me know!

Mani Monday

Hey guys

It feels like ages since I've done a mani monday!
Today, I decided to use one of Maybelline's polishes from their color show Street Artist top coat range that I picked up in my most recent superdrug haul
I'm not quite sure why I used such a dark colour because the sun seems to be making an appearance and I should be wearing beautiful bright pastel colours but for some reason I chose a darker colour.
I used a dark blue polish as my base coat and then used the 'Alley Attitide' top coat.
I'm really loving these polishes. Such a quick and easy way to achieve great looking nails. Perfect for those times that I've feeling to lazy to create some kind of nail art design.

Have you guys used any of the top coats from this range? What do you think of them? Any other top coats you would recommend? Let me know!

Thanks for reading and have a great week!

Mani Monday

Hey guys!

I apologise for the lack of posts recently. I've had some intense weeks at uni and didn't have time/feel like writing. Unfortunately my crazily busy weeks haven't ended as I have an exam next week which of course I haven't started revising for... As it stands I'm currently taking a break from the all-nighter that I decided to pull.

It's been a while since I've posted a mani monday so here's my current manicure! I went back to my usual striping tape.

To create this look, I used a simple black from Barry M and one of the 'Polka Dots' polishes from one of Maybelline's limited edition color show.

Nude Mani Monday

Hey guys

A couple of weeks ago I posted about my recent Superdrug Haul. In this haul I picked up a couple of nude limited edition nail polishes from Maybelline's color show range.

I had mentioned my hesitation regarding nude nail polishes as I'm quite a dark skinned girl. However, I'm loving these polishes!

And unlike many of the polishes from this range, it hasn't peeled off and seems to be lasting quite a while which I'm pleasantly surprised about.

Have any of you tried these polishes?
I'd love to know what you thought of them!

Mani Monday- Street Artist Edition

Hey Guys

Happy Monday! (Positive thinking...)

I had an assessment today and one way I like to de-stress and chill is by doing my nails.

Recently, I bought a load of nail polishes which you can read about here

I really wasn't in the mood for waiting for nail polishes to dry so I can do some nail art design but I didn't want plain nails so I decided to try out one of the new polishes from Maybelline's Color Show Street Artist edition.

These polishes are a top coat effect so I just picked out some random nail polish I found in my collection which turned out to be one of the many presents I was given by my blogger secret santa. The polish is from Primark and the first one I've used from there. I don't know if their polishes are any good but I love this colour. I almost didn't want to put the top coat over.

As I was painting the top coat on, I wasn't sure if I was feeling it but the more I look at it, the more I'm warming up to it.

So far I'm loving them. Have any of you guys tried these polishes? What do you think of them?

Do let me know!

Mani Monday

Hey Guys

Happy manicure monday!

These are the colours I used to create this week's nails.

nail polish maybelline collection

As you can tell, the one on the left is pretty old. The writing is rubbing off. It's from collection 2000 and the other one is from Maybelline's color show range which I did a review of once upon a time ago!

Another simple design but I think sometimes with striping tape less is more. Leaves it looking more elegant.
Unfortunately my thumbnail has broken leaving my nails a bit uneven but hopefully it'll grow back soon!
What do you guys think? Any of you obsessed with nail art like me? Leave your links below, I'd love to see them!

Nail therapy

I haven't been having the best couple of days so I decided to treat myself to some treats.
Superdrug is currently doing 3 for 2 on cosmetics and I'm trying to cut down on spending so I thought I'd buy some nail polishes.
If you're a regular reader of my blog you'll know I love Maybelline's color show range. (You can check out the review here) And at the moment they have a limited edition range of 'brocades' nail polishes. I got the shades 'woven skyline' and 'rosy rosettes'.

They're a kind of gilttery effect.
I haven't used them yet and to be honest I don't think I'll use them until I have an event to dress up for but as soon as I do I'll definitely review them. I just bought them because limited edition stuff always gets me and I feel I have to buy them.

I then needed to find my free nail polish. I must admit I'm finding it difficult to find in drugstores nail polish shades I don't already have. My collections is already filled with almost duplicates.
But I found a shade in Barry M's gelly hi-shine range that I don't have.
It's shade guava and I love it

I'm currently wearing it now with Maybelline's color show black shade:

What do you guys think? Have you tried any of these products and are they working out for you?
Do least me know. And if you have any nail polish and/or nail art design recommendations please do comment below.

NOTD

Hey guys

I know it's been a while. I've had a super busy week at uni and my weekend isn't any less busy.
I feel like my blog has been a little bit neglected so here's a little short but sweet post.
I'm a massive lover of nail art and love doing a bit myself when I have the time and patience but I was quite limited since my only accessory was sellotape.
So I decided to treat myself and get some accessories from eBay!

I got some brushes, a pen, some acrylic nails and nail glue.

I was pretty tired last night when I was doing my nails so decided to keep the design simple. I used a turquoise as the base and a black for the extra detail. Both polishes are from Maybelline's color show range which I have reviewed before and can be found here.
For a first attempt the design turned out quite nicely if I do say so myself

What do you guys think? Any suggestions of designs or accessories? Or have you had a go at nail art. Do let me know. Also if you're interested in getting my designs on acrylic nails do let me know! I don't really wear acrylics myself only for special occasions but I'm quite interested and keen on painting designs on them and selling. I've always had a love for business so why not combine that with one of my passions?!

Thanks for reading! And don't forget to follow me on Twitter and Bloglovin'!

And if you haven't entered my giveaway make sure you do! You can find it here. Free beauty products up for grabs!

Have a great day!

Maybelline color show review

Hey guys! :)

It's time for my first product review. I've recently started blogging so thought I would start with my favourite nail polish range at the moment. I'm obsessed with nail polishes. It's my weakness and about a couple of months ago Maybelline released a range of nail polishes called color show. When I see a new range of nail polishes I just have to try them without checking reviews which I normally do with other beauty products. And normally the new ones are on some kind of offer so I buy in bulk and sometimes I do regret it if the nail polishes suck but if they're great I regret not buying more.

I'm in love with this range. It's Maybelline's first transparent gel based formula and I love it. The colour is bright and vibrant and it lasts for ages!!! If I had to complain it would be that the bottle is smaller than I usually like but to be honest at £2.99 a bottle I can't really complain. It's a great price and even greater quality and I love doing nail art with them.  As you can see, I have plenty and fully intend on buying more.
My ultimate dream would be to have the whole range.
I particularly love the limited edition ranges they do. Currently they have a leather range out which I'm yet to try out as I haven't had time to get into town but once I do I'll definitely be buying them.

I'm currently wearing one of the limited edition range (polka dots)- shown below

They brought out a neon range during the summer which of course with the weird heatwave we had was perfect so I was rocking those colours a fair bit.
Now that the weather is typically British again I thought it appropriate to tone the colours down a bit but that doesn't mean boring dull colours. I quite like the blues- like turquoise and teal at the moment.

Hope you haven't found the post too long. As you can probably tell I love this range and could go on talking about it forever
Hope you guys have enjoyed it and of anybody has tried this range let me know what you thought of it!!

Thanks for reading and have a great day! :)
