Boots haul

Hey guys

After what seemed like a lifetime spending ban I finally went shopping!!! I went a bit crazy so I'll spread my purchases over a few blogs.

This first one is on what I recently bought from Boots.
My first item is a face mask from 'Good things'. I was actually looking for another mask but this one caught my eye because of the shine control and blemish control it claimed to have. These are 2 of my main issues as I have super oily skin. I've only used the mask a few times so far and at the moment I'm liking it. It has quite a bit of menthol so when it's first out on it can be quite uncomfortable but when it's washed off it leaves my skin feeling smooth, soft and grease free. I'll see how it goes. I've got quite a high bar set, thanks to soap any glory's facial peel.

Boots had buy one get one half price so I thought I'd find 2 items I really liked. I bought four... *facepalm*.
I decided my lips were in need of a treat so I bought 2 lipglosses and 2 lip butters.
I had forgotten how much I loved lipglosses. I used to associate them with when I was younger and now that I'm older (uni student) I should be wearing lipsticks. But if I'm totally honest, I'm not the biggest lipstick fan. Don't get me wrong, I think lipsticks are great but I feel that I tend to find lipglosses that suit me more easily than I do lipsticks. (Maybe it's  just all in my head). They also keep the lips well moisturised and barely need topping up.
Well I got a L'oreal shine lipgloss and a revlon lipgloss.
The L'oreal lipgloss is in a purple shade and the Revlon is a dark red shade. I love these shades as I feel they're quite appropriate for the autumn season were in. Not too bright but still enough colour especially with the darker clothes worn in this season.
I also got 2 of the Revlon lip butters. I bought a red colour and a pink colour. I can definitely see myself going to get a few more. They keep the lips well hydrated (important as it starts to get colder) whilst giving the lips great colour. I was impressed at how long the colour remained. I'm more inclined to use these on nights out or dinners rather than everyday use as the shades I bought are quite bright (for me personally) to use everyday. Maybe if I get some darker shades they'll be used for everyday use.

All in all a pleasant (not to my bank account) trip to boots.
Unlike my trip to Clinique but that's another topic for another post.

Apologies for the picture quality. I don't have the best camera and it doesn't bring out how great the shades are but I hope you've enjoyed this post.

Thanks for reading and leave your comments below- I love to read and reply them and follow me on bloglovin', twitter and add me on google+!

Have a great day!

Back to uni!

Hey guys

I start back at uni tomorrow and thought it would be good to write a different type of post.
It's a really important year for me and I really want to get good marks so I need to make some realistic aims.

When I begin a new academic year I always make these promises to myself about how I'll revise a lot more, spend less, eat healthily you know the usual lol

So I thought if I put my goals in writing it might be easier to achieve and I'll be more likely to stick to them so what better place to put it than on my blog!

1. Get organised and keep organised
     - I always start off organised but give
it a few weeks and my folders are a
mess and my room begins to get
       cluttered
This year I'm gonna try and file my
notes as soon as soon as I have
them instead of waiting for them to
       pile up

2. Write up notes ASAP
     - As soon as I finish a set of notes in
lectures I want to have written them
up in my own writing (within a week)
and filed away so it's easier to make
my flashcards and mind maps when
       it comes to revision.

3. Start coursework ASAP
    - No more leaving things last minute
I want to start my assignments
within 3-5 days of the day it has
       been set

4. Exercise regularly and continue
    barely ordering take out
    - Healthy body healthy mind! :)
Exercise is a great way to relieve
stress and uni can get very stressful.
I recently lost a stone but I slacked
over the holidays so I want to lose
a stone or 2 and then tone up.
I want to be going to the gym 2-3
times a week even more if I can in
      less busy weeks.
I've been managing to order take out
less which is great because not only
does it save me money, it
encourages me to cook so I can
      make relatively healthy meals.

5. Procrastinate less!!!
    - I'm a massive procrastinator. It
should be my middle name. At uni I
use tv shows to procrastinate. For
some reason all my shows come
back when uni resumes- it's almost
like they want me not to work.
I'm going to try (emphasis on the try
and only watch when I'm eating and
maybe an hour or so before bedtime.
Make sure my work is done first
      before I watch.

6. Keep blogging!!!
    -With increasing workload it's difficult.
to keep up with leisure but I really.
don't want my blogging to suffer. I'm
a relatively new blogger and I really.
enjoy it and I don't want going back
to uni to mean less posts so I'm
going to try to post a minimum of 3
posts a week. Some months maybe
crazy busy but I'll try my best!!!

Hope you've enjoyed my post. It's different type but I wanted to get myself in the best mind frame so I can start this year as I mean to go.
Then I can look back next year when I'm in my final year and can see what I achieved, what went well, what didn't go well and anything else I need to do.

Anybody out there starting uni or sixth form and has set themselves goals? I'd love to read them!

Thanks for reading! :)

Maybelline color show review

Hey guys! :)

It's time for my first product review. I've recently started blogging so thought I would start with my favourite nail polish range at the moment. I'm obsessed with nail polishes. It's my weakness and about a couple of months ago Maybelline released a range of nail polishes called color show. When I see a new range of nail polishes I just have to try them without checking reviews which I normally do with other beauty products. And normally the new ones are on some kind of offer so I buy in bulk and sometimes I do regret it if the nail polishes suck but if they're great I regret not buying more.

I'm in love with this range. It's Maybelline's first transparent gel based formula and I love it. The colour is bright and vibrant and it lasts for ages!!! If I had to complain it would be that the bottle is smaller than I usually like but to be honest at £2.99 a bottle I can't really complain. It's a great price and even greater quality and I love doing nail art with them.  As you can see, I have plenty and fully intend on buying more.
My ultimate dream would be to have the whole range.
I particularly love the limited edition ranges they do. Currently they have a leather range out which I'm yet to try out as I haven't had time to get into town but once I do I'll definitely be buying them.

I'm currently wearing one of the limited edition range (polka dots)- shown below

They brought out a neon range during the summer which of course with the weird heatwave we had was perfect so I was rocking those colours a fair bit.
Now that the weather is typically British again I thought it appropriate to tone the colours down a bit but that doesn't mean boring dull colours. I quite like the blues- like turquoise and teal at the moment.

Hope you haven't found the post too long. As you can probably tell I love this range and could go on talking about it forever
Hope you guys have enjoyed it and of anybody has tried this range let me know what you thought of it!!

Thanks for reading and have a great day! :)

Skincare tag

Hey guys

So I've read quite a few skincare tags and even though technically I haven't been tagged and since I'm looking for things to blog about I thought I would jump on the bandwagon. Enjoy :D

Describe your skincare routine in 5 words
easy, refreshing, gentle, regular, modifiable

  What's your skin type?

Oily-like major, which I find so annoying, yet to find products that allow
me to remain shine-free for majority of the day. I guess one benefit
is that my skin remains young (or so I've been told...)

  What's your favourite skincare product?

At the moment it would have to be Soap and Glory's 2-in-1 facial pore purifying mask and peel
It's the best mask I've used so far, leaving my skin feel clean and not greasy
Top blemish zapper
I haven't used one that I'm happy with. I am currently using the Freederm
one which I'm notimpressed with so am more
than happy for people's opinions. Now that I'm more regular with
my skincare routine, breakouts are less common
but when I do get spots (because unfortunately I still do)
it would be nice to have one that works

Face wipes yay or nay?
I use face wipes when I get home just to remove the make up I have but
before I go to bed I wash my face properly as I don't think face
wipes remove all the make up properly, especially
eye make up
  Toner yay or nay?

I do use a toner but I'm yet to find one I'm 100% happy with so I'm welcome to suggestions

High end skincare or high end make up?

I think I'm more inclined to buy high end make up because I find make-up more exciting
but it is important to have good skincare but I feel many of the drugstore products are more than great if
not better at times
What's the most unusual skincare product you've tried?

I actually tend not to use unusual products on my face because I'm quite scared about how
my face will react to it. If I had to answer, I would say a self-heating mask I used once, which did feel
weird on my face but I didn't like it as I didn't
feel that my face was cleansed enough afterwards

You're in a French pharmacy and can only pick one item - what is it?
I recently saw an advert on Lancome's skin pigmentation corrector and I
would love to try it out as I would love to get
an even skin tone. Would definitely result in less foundation use
Tell us your top skincare tip
Drink as much water as possible. It's a tip I try to follow as much as possible
because when I do, I definitely see great results in my skin

I hope you've enjoyed reading my skincare tag. Let me know what you think and any suggestions especially on how to deal with extremely oily skin and how to keep my face shine-free all day. I'm more than happy to check out your skincare tags so just comment below and I'll give them a read :)

Gotta have cake

I love to bake and the other day I decided to make lemon drizzle cake for the first time as it is one of my favourite cakes but some shops make it too lemony.
I'm not one to brag but it came out perfect. I wish I could leave a piece for you guys to try lol.
It wasn't too lemony which I was afraid of and the drizzle was just perfect. The cake had a great fluffiness to it.
The reviews I got on it just makes me want to start a baking business even more (but maybe I should finish my degree first...)
Unfortunately there's no more (I guess that's good coz I'm supposed to be on a diet lol) as I did have to share it with a lot of people but the bit that I had was delicious. I literally woke up thinking about it lol

If anybody wants the recipe just let me know.

I've posted a few pics below of it

Thanks for reading and have a great day :)

Introductory

Hey guys!!!

As I go back to uni in a few weeks time, I thought what better way to procrastinate than to start a blog!!! :)
So here goes!!!

I'm obsessed with nail polish and always find myself buying duplicate colours or colours very near to ones I already own. I also love nail art so I thought I would write a blog about nail polish purchases and review old and new ones as nail polish is my weakness.

I will also probably blog about other topics as I do love to shop and watch tv and read books so there may be posts about those too.

I'm also open to suggestions so let me know and I'll be more than happy to blog about it!!!
